About the group
The mailing list CFS-L and the newsgroup alt.med.cfs mirror each other. Many people prefer the convenience of reading Usenet newsgroups rather than receiving many messages from an active mailing list. On the other hand, e-mail tends to be faster and more reliable than newsgroup messages.Anyone can read the group through their Usenet interface (or follow the newsgroup at its Google page). However, in order to be able to post messages directly to the group, whether by email or through the newsgroup, you must formally join the group. See the instructions to the right.
There are several ways to join the group. Join the group
ASK THE MODERATORS TO ADD YOU: You can ask the CFS-L Moderators to add you to the group by writing to them at CFS-L-REQUEST@MAELSTROM.STJOHNS.EDU. It may take hours or a day or two for them to add you. You can also use the more instanteneous methods described below.
BY WEB: To join instantly via web, click here. Fill in the form there, and at the very bottom of the page click the button labeled "Join the list".
BY EMAIL, METHOD No. 1: If your outgoing email messages automatically show your name in addition to your email address, then you can also join quickly by sending an email -- any email -- to
cfs-l-subscribe-request@maelstrom.stjohns.edu The Subject: heading and the text of the message do not matter, and may in fact be left blank.
NEWSGROUP REGISTRATION, AND EMAIL METHOD No. 2: Regardless of whether your email shows your name, OR if you wish to register for posting to alt.med.cfs, send an e-mail message to
